Cosmic strings in generalized hybrid metric-Palatini gravity

We consider the possible existence of gravitationally bound stringlike objects in framework generalized hybrid metric-Palatini gravity theory, which gravitational action is represented by an arbitrary function Ricci and Palatini scalars, respectively. The theory admits equivalent scalar-tensor representation terms two independent scalar fields. Assuming cylindrical symmetry, boost invariance metric, we obtain field equations that describe cosmic structures theory. physical geometrical properties strings are determined fields, as well effective potential, functionally dependent on both can be exactly solved for a vanishing, constant respectively, with corresponding string tension taking negative positive values.
